Student Computer Facilities

The department has a computer teaching facility in 288 NEB, which is available to all students in the Electical and Computer Engineering department in addition to University of Florida students taking classes in the ECE department.

The lab is run by a SPARC Solaris E450 server allowing UNIX and Windows client logons. There are 75 Windows-XP machines, 26 Solaris consoles and 24 "Remote only" Solaris machines for use by our students. Software that is required by the department's courses are pre-installed on all machines.

Resources are funded through department funds and generous donations from private industry such as Harris Corporation.
