Academic Learning Compacts

The accrediting body for engineering, ABET, requires that each program publish its educational objectives.  A description of the student learning outcomes will also be included with this information.  This description of outcomes will consist of a list of all of the ABET outcomes followed by this paragraph.

In addition to the requirements imposed by the engineering accrediting body, all students in the State of Florida must be given an opportunity to achieve the program’s self identified Academic Learning Compact.  To achieve the Compact in this discipline, you must demonstrate achievement of the following skills:

1) An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering principles to Electrical Engineering problems

2)  An ability to design and conduct Electrical Engineering experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.

3)  An ability to design a Electrical Engineering system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability

4)  An ability to communicate technical data and design information effectively both orally and in writing to other Electrical Engineers
