EEL 3304C – Electronic Circuits I

 

Catalog Description: (4 cr) Fundamentals of electronic circuits and systems. Laboratory.

Prerequisites: Circuits I

Textbook: Microelectronic Circuits, 5th Edition. A.S. Sedra & K.C. Smith. (2004) ISBN number: 0-19-514251-9

Course Objective: Learn the basics of electronic components, circuits, and systems. Design electronic circuits and systems to meet desired needs and specifications. Engage in life-long learning of electronics and related technologies.

Professional Component: 4 credits of Engineering Design

  • EE1 - knowledge of probability and statistics, including applications
  • EE2 - knowledge of mathematics, basic and engineering sciences necessary to analyze and design complex systems

  • BJT – Operation, models, Biasing, AC model, Amplifiers, SPICE
  • IC Biasing - Current sources, mirrors, steering, Single-Stage Amplifiers, Active loads, Cascade Amplifiers; SPICE
  • Differential Amplifiers, Active Load, Frequency Response, Multistage Amplifiers; SPICE
