Purpose of Accreditation

In the United States, accreditation is used to assure quality in educational institutions and programs. Accreditation is a voluntary, non-governmental process of peer review. It requires an educational institution or program to meet certain, defined standards or criteria. Accreditation is sometimes confused with certification. In general, institutions and programs are accredited, and individuals are certified.  Engineering programs are evaluated and accredited by ABET's Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC).

Accreditation

The electrical engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.  ABET is the recognized accreditor for college and university programs in applied science, computing, engineering and technology and is among the most respected accreditation organizations in the United States.
