Welcome to the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Florida!
We are glad you have decided to join our program. This webpage contains important links that will help introduce you to the ECE department and the University of Florida. These links include:
1) The Graduate Guidelines: This booklet contains the rules and regulations of our degree programs. Please familiarize yourself with the part that applies to your degree.
2) A List of the Research Area Coordinators: Faculty members who can provide detailed information about the courses and research projects offered by their area.
3) An Academic Calendar and Course Schedule, which lists important academic dates and course offerings for the semester. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us directly.
4) Current ECE Graduate Student Page: This is where the latest information will be posted. Students should check this page regularly.
All new graduate students are required to check in at the Student Services Office, 230 Larsen, starting August 3, 2009, New students will sign up for an academic advisement session with the ECE graduate academic advisor when they check in. Specific details reqarding degree requirements, course registration, etc, will be provided during that advisement session.
In addition, ECE will hold a general welcome orientation and division research presentations for graduate students on August 18, 2009 and August 20, 2009. A prelliminary schedule can be found here.

Shannon Chillingworth (Phone: 392-9758, e-mail: schill@ece.ufl.edu) who will help you register, will handle your petitions, and will help you with general questions about your progress. She advises all current and new graduate students. Shannon’s office is located in 230 Larsen Hall.
Dr. Gijs Bosman (Phone: 392-9758, e-mail: gbosm@ece.ufl.edu) is the Graduate Coordinator and directs our graduate program. Dr. Bosman’s office is EB 565.
Personnel and Payroll Office (392-9472), email: payroll@ece.ufl.edu is the office that will assist you register for employment, for research assistantships, teaching assistantships, and fellowships. The Personnel and Payroll Office is located in Larsen Hall, room 226. If you are offered a research or teaching assistantship, you must present yourself in person to the Personnel and Payroll Office before the start of the semester in which you are enrolled.
