The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UF offers some of the world's most comprehensive educational and research programs for undergraduate and graduate students. Led by faculty at the top of their fields, ECE academics are augmented by research centers and labs that provide students with hands-on experience and by international programs that teach students how to succeed in the global high-tech marketplace.

Products and technologies developed by electrical engineers and computer engineers at UF and by ECE alumni have made a dramatic impact on everyday lives. Technology has greatly changed over the last 50 years.  Some of the changes include technologies that power the Internet, hybrid cars, modern hearing aids, and cell phones, just to name a few. All of these things, developed by electrical and computer engineers, increase efficiency, enable faster communications, provide cleaner energy sources, or help people with disabilities lead fuller lives.

Besides doing challenging and worthwhile work, electrical and computer engineers are among the top 10 most in demand majors by employers. Graduates of ECE at UF are among the highest paid of all engineering disciplines and the most pursued by industry and top graduate, business, medical, and law schools. A UF ECE degree is a mark of distinction recognized and respected around the world.
