The Electrical and Computer Engineering undergraduate program is ranked 12th among public universities and 19th among public and private universities as reported by U. S. News and World Report for 2003. The ECE graduate program is ranked 24th among public universities and 30th among public and private universities as reported by U. S. News and World Report for 2003.
The ECE department is the largest department at the University for degree-track student enrollment and our research expenditures exceeded $9.47 million for 2002. With high quality students and outstanding faculty, the department is well poised to achieve its mission of excellence. Some indicators of our faculty recognition include 23 IEEE Fellows, four IEEE Life Fellows, six Fellows of other engineering societies, eight received awards from the National Science Foundation, and one is a member of the National Academy of Engineering. The ECE faculty typically author over 100 journal articles each year.
