Dr. David Arnold has been named a recipient of a Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE) for 2009. He was one of only two winners at the University of Florida, with 100 awards being made nationwide.
A PECASE award is the highest honor bestowed by the United States government on young professionals in the early stages of their independent research careers. The Presidential Awards are intended to recognize and nurture some of the finest scientists and engineers who, while early in their research careers, show exceptional potential for leadership at the frontiers of scientific knowledge during the twenty-first century. Award recipients will be honored at a White House ceremony this fall.
More information can be found in the official White House press release.
