Alumni Honors and Awards

 

Lesa Roe (BSEE, 1986),Director, NASA Langley Research Center, honored as ECE Distinguished Alumni Career Award, 2006

Dr. Hyung Khu Lim (PhD, 1984), honored as College of Engineering Distinguished Alumni at Spring 2005 commencement.

Dr. Sachio Semmoto (PhD, 1971), honored as UF Distinguished Alumni at Fall 2004 commencement.

Dr. Deniz Erdogmus (PhD, May 2002) was chosen to receive the IEEE Signal Processing Young Author Award for his paper An Error Entropy Minimization Algorithm for Supervised Training of Nonlinear Adaptive Systems, co-authored with his faculty advisor Dr. Jose Principe. The award will be presented in Montreal, Canada on May 4, 2004.

Jason Jerauld (BSEE, May 2001; MS, May 2003), PhD candidate in the area of electromagnetics and atmospheric science, specifically in relation to lightning physics and its practical applications, particularly to aircraft safety under the direction of Dr. Martin Uman, was awarded NASA Florida Space Grant Consortium Fellowship for 2004.  Jason is the only recipient of this award for this year.
