Graduate Tracks

The ECE department is piloting a graduate track program in an effort to help students plan their programs of study and to make their areas of expertise more obvious to potential employers. Students should design their plans of study to broaden their knowledge of foundational disciplines and to provide deep knowledge in one or more ECE tracks. Regardless of whether a student intends to join industry or go on to pursue a PhD degree, the concepts and techniques learned in foundational courses will be essential for graduates to continue to learn and adapt to new technical knowledge and technologies in their lifetimes. This combination of depth and breadth will serve students well for their professional lifetimes.

Requirements

  1. Students take 4 courses to complete a track (must earn B or better in each course)
  2. Tracks are not required but encouraged. Both Master’s and PhD students can complete 1 or more tracks.
  3. Upon completion of track requirements, students need to submit an application request with the department in order to be recognized.
  4. Graduate track completion is recorded and tracked internally by the ECE department.  Graduate track completion will NOT be included on the student’s transcript.
  5. Tracks are not generally available for EDGE students since so few of the department courses are available through EDGE.

Students who complete an ECE graduate track are eligible to receive a digital certificate of completion. To receive this certificate of completion, students must submit an application request using the below link:
