Advance Registration Policy and Procedure for Electrical Engineering majors
Advance Registration happens twice a year for all UF students. In late October to mid-November, students will register for the spring semester. In late March to mid-April, students will register for the summer and fall semesters at the same time. The EE advisor will send out an email and post on the EE Blog a month prior to advance registration so that students can begin scheduling appointments to clear their holds (see EE AR Procedures below). All Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering students must see their advisor to clear their advising holds. All Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering students are also required to meet with their Academic Advisors at least once each semester.

Advance Registration for Semester specific will begin TBD, so it is time to schedule an appointment to clear your advising hold(s) and discuss your upcoming schedule for the next semester(s). The schedule of courses is available to view for all students at www.registrar.ufl.edu/soc on TBD. Please review the course listings before you arrive for your appointment, and please review your degree audit to confirm what remaining courses you have to complete for the Electrical Engineering degree.
I will be seeing students by your class classification (5EG, 4EG, 3EG, 2EG,) beginning DATE. For post-bac students, you will be seen with the 5 EG’s (starting March). For students currently studying abroad, AIM students and HONORS students, please send an email directly to firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance. Your advising may be conducted differently.

FIRST YEAR STUDENTS( Your first 3 semesters at UF):
If you are a first year student (a non-transfer student that started your first semester at UF in Spring 2017, Summer 2016 and Fall 2016 regardless of your incoming credits), please disregard these instructions. You must see the First Year Advising team in Weil 204.

For the following dates February 28th -March 10th advising holds can be cleared during walk-in advising hours from 10-12 and 1-3. If you are in Gainesville for spring break (March 4-10) please come in to clear your holds.

For EE students to clear advising holds; there will be 2 ways to clear your advising holds for Summer and Fall 2017. You are able to schedule an appointment (see directions below) or come in during the designated walk-in advising day to clear your advising holds. In each option you must complete the Advance Registration Worksheet (ARW). The ARW is attached to this email. To clear your advising hold by walk-in advising will be on Thursdays only. The hours of walk-in are 9:30-12 and 1- 4pm.
If your schedule does not permit you to come in during the schedule times above then you can send an email with the Advance Registration Worksheet to the EE advisor email. Please allow 24-48 hours to clear your hold if you are clearing by email. Do not wait until to your assigned date to clear all holds.
Instructions for scheduling an appointment – please read entirely!
Appointments will be available Monday through Friday from 10AM-12PM and 1PM-4PM. Appointments will last approximately 20 minutes and will take place in 230 Larsen Hall. I respectfully ask that you arrive at least 5 minutes early in case the appointment before you ends early. Advance registration is a busy time; please understand that if you are more than 5 minutes late to your appointment you run the risk of being asked to reschedule for another date/time.
Please refer to the schedule above to see when you can schedule your registration appointment. Students that schedule an appointment earlier than outlined above will have their appointment cancelled and will need to reschedule. During this appointment, we will remove any holds on your record as well as discuss your plans for both the Summer and Fall 2017.
Below are detail explanations for each step to schedule an advance registration appointment.
1. Click on https://www.ece.ufl.edu/advisors/ to access the registration system website.
2. Click on “Log In” in the center of the screen.
3. Log into the system using your GATORLINK USERNAME AND PASSWORD (the same information you use to access ISIS).
4. Select an open time slot with me for your appointment. Allison and I are both listed on the system – be sure to select my name for your appointment. Note that appointments begin Wednesday, March 6. You can use the green arrows at the bottom of the screen to toggle between weeks. If I am unavailable, it will be blocked off on the calendar.
5. When you hover over an available appointment slot, it will be highlighted in green, with my name highlighted in yellow.
6. Once you have selected your time and date of your appointment, you will be asked to complete three fields with information.
A. For “Title of Reservation,” please type in “Registration Appointment.”
B. For “Description of Reservation,” please type in your first and last name.
C. For “Additional Comments for Advisor,” please include any topics or concerns that you feel
are the most important to be covered during your appointment.
D. Please attach a copy of the completed Advance Registration Worksheet to your
appointment (a blank form has been attached to the same email as these instructions) – this
will expedite the advising process and give your advisor an idea of your plans for the next

**You MUST see a pop-up window with a reference number as confirmation that your appointment was created. An email notification of your appointment will be emailed to the advising staff.**
