Christopher On is an ECE alum who has used his experience at the University of Florida to establish a successful career in the financial tech industry. Chris has over 9 years of experience and is now using his expertise to lead Revenue Strategy for a game-changing startup in Silicon Valley.

Chris was first attracted to the University of Florida because of the strong education program and die hard sports fans. In fact his favorite experience from his time at UF was when the Gators won the NCAA Basketball tournament the same school year as they won the NCAA Football Championship and solidified their nickname as "Titletown".

The ECE program was especially exciting for Chris because of his interest in tech, computers and programming. His experience in this program helped him develop the problem solving skills that have been crucial to his career trajectory.

After graduating Chris started his seven year career at Capital One swiftly moving from Jr. Analyst to a Senior Manager for the company. However, it became clear to Chris that he wanted to focus his career on empowering those in poor financial situations reach financial health and making a bigger impact.

Chris then packed his bags and moved across the country to Silicon Valley to Head Revenue Strategy for LendUp, a socially responsible lending company. At LendUp Chris helps build financial products that provide credit building opportunities to consumers that banks are unable to approve for credit.

His hard work is paying off and the company has found success. LendUp has raised hundreds of millions of equity and debt by some of Silicon Valley's most prominent investors, such as Google Ventures, Kleiner Perkins, Andreessen Horowitz, the founder of Capital One, and many social enterprises such as Kapor Capital (former CEO of NAACP), Emerging Impact Fund, The California Endowment, and many entrepreneurs here in CA.

Now Chris is utilizing the skills he developed at ECE to pursue a career that he is truly passionate about. He hopes that future and current ECE take full advantage of their time because it can help set them up for success in their careers.
