Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced that it has named Craig Largent, Ph.D. the new managing partner of the firm’s Silicon Valley office in Menlo Park, California. The firm is internationally known for intellectual property law. Dr. Largent received his J.D. from Stanford Law School after getting his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida. He was a student of Dr. Peter Zory with an emphasis on optoelectronics and lasers. He was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force during his time at UF and after graduation, taught at the Air Force graduate school of engineering in Dayton, Ohio before transitioning to a patent attorney. While in Gainesville, he remembers going to many football games at Florida Field. Also, he and his wife were regulars at the O’Dome, cheering on the Lady Gator Volleyball team and the basketball teams. They were also involved with Arbor House, a maternity shelter, which provided a nurturing environment for homeless women. He is a life member of the UF Alumni Club and have lots of great memories from his time in Gainesville.
