NSF I/UCRC for Multi-functional Integrated System Technology (MIST) Kickoff Meeting
The Multi-functional Integrated System Technology (MIST) Center is an NSF Industry/University Cooperative Research Center (I/UCRC) led by the University of Florida and the University of Central Florida. The mission is to facilitate integration of novel materials, processes, devices, and circuits into multi-functional systems through research partnerships between university, industry, and government stakeholders.
Compared to traditional integrated circuit platforms, multi-functional integrated systems yield rich functional diversity and are typified by the synergistic integration of different materials, length scales, input/output energies, devices, transduction mechanisms, and power sources. Integrated hardware functionality is a key enabler for the transformative electronic systems of tomorrow, such as net-connected IoT sensor nodes, wearable electronics, and personalized healthcare devices. The MIST Center seeks to catalyze innovation opportunities at the intersections of multiple emerging technologies by fueling research interactions between our academic, industry, and government partners.
