Cantor Colburn Hires Ming Jiang, Ph.D., Patent Agent with Electrical Engineering Expertise, for Growing Atlanta Office


Atlanta -- Cantor Colburn LLP announced that it has hired Ming Jiang, Ph.D. as a Patent Agent in its Atlanta office.  Dr. Jiang is an experienced patent agent with a doctorate in communication sciences and electrical engineering. Prior to beginning his legal career, he spent 15 years in research and development in the digital communications and optical telecommunications industries. The firm’s Atlanta office has grown steadily since opening in 2005.




Dr. Jiang counsels clients in intellectual property law, particularly in U.S. and international patent prosecution. He has a strong background in electrical and computer engineering, digital communications, acoustics, phonetics, and forensic sciences. His current practice focuses on patent prosecution in the areas of medical physics and devices, electrical and computer engineering, material science, telecommunications, fiber optics, photonics and electronics, optical, mechanical and electronic devices, semiconductors, LED/LCD displays, and computer and electronic hardware, e-commerce, and software, firmware, and middleware. Prior to joining the firm, Dr. Jiang was a technical advisor and patent agent at Morris Manning and Martin LLP for more than 10 years. During this time, he established a branch office in Beijing, China, and was the Chief Representative of the China Office.  Dr. Jiang has more than 15 years of experience in research and development environments, including the development of digital communications equipment development at Nortel Networks, and optical telecommunications equipment at Movaz Networks. He has a B.S. and M.S. in electrical engineering from Southeast University in Nanjing, China, and a Ph.D. in communication sciences and electrical engineering from the University of Florida. He is admitted as a patent agent to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
