The Summer Undergraduate Research at Florida (SURF) Program introduces prospective Ph.D. students to research opportunities at UF.

ECE participates heavily in the SURF program, designed to show high-performing undergraduate students the rigors of UF’s collaborative and multi-disciplinary research environment. Participants in the program spend ten weeks in an immersive research environment in the department, working with faculty mentors and Ph.D. student mentors.

Through participation in the program, SURF students experience graduate-level research at a top-tier research institution. Besides real-world research experience and a familiarity with UF, eligible “SURFers” receive preferred Ph.D. admission and fellowship offers to UF upon completion!
